ITHACA COMMONS FOUNTAIN

The Raimondo DeVincentis Water Fountain (often simply called the Ithaca Commons Fountain) serves as the design centerpiece of the pedestrian mall in downtown Ithaca, New York. Positioned in the bustling section known as Bank Alley, the granite structure was completed in May 2017. Designed by the global architecture firm Sasaki Associates, the fountain acts as a physical tribute to Ithaca’s famous surrounding gorges and waterfalls. It is constructed out of sharp-edged, multi-layered Caledonia grey granite slabs where water bubbles from one end, winds downward, and cascades onto a lower step equipped with small sprinklers.
